SUMMARY:Biologics Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Biologics\, such as monoclonal antibodies are a rapidly growing area of therapeutics across a number of different clinical indications. Antibodies offer exquisite specificity combined with a general lack of off target toxicity and have been engineered to offer different modes of intervention (either dependent on structure or antibody format). Additionally the axis of intervention (ligand blockade\, receptor blockade\, receptor down-regulation\, cell depletion\, signal transduction/receptor activation and or payload delivery) can vary depending on the desired properties for a given target. This workshop will provide an overview of biologics\, as exemplified by antibodies as therapeutics and will cover the following areas in detail; Isolation of antibodies\, antibody generation/manufacture\, antibody structure and function\, pharmacokinetics and immunogenicity\, safety evaluation\, drug delivery options and clinical development.
